Can loose braids still promote hair growth on African American hair ?

I french braid my hair but am not very good, so they are very loose.

Your hair will grow best if the braids are not too tight. But then it'll grow anyway regardless of how you wear your hair. It's what hair does. Also, you have to realize that very tight braids can pull your hair out of your scalp and promote baldness. Not to mention the fact that really tight braids hurt enough that it makes it hard just to lay your head on the pillow.Can loose braids still promote hair growth on African American hair ?

I dont think so to grow they have to be tight but not really tight or it will start to break off.
