Does washing hair once a week promote hair growth?

Please understand that the references here to race are not in anyway intended to be rude, harsh or racist in the least.

Your message does not include your race, and in this instance, knowing that is very important.

Caucasian, asian, latino, and other cultures often was their locks more frequently than once a week. This is because the make up of the hairs and the chemicals in the scalp are different than those of african americans, and people around the world with similar types of hair.

Women of color that I know only wash their hair weekly, or every other week. This is because the sebaceous glands in the scalp produce oil to the hair shafts differently.

Hair grows at a steady rate regardless of how often you wash it. In a similar question, I suggested that the writer eat more protien, and use a good prenatal vitamin. This answer was slammed by a beautician. However, the use of vitamins and the correct amount of protien has been shown by science to work.

The hair normally grows an average of half inch per month. If a person has a sluggish Thyroid gland, this process may be slowed. Proper nutrition and vitamins will help a normal thyroid produce the necessary hormones to promote hair growth.

Best WISHES!Does washing hair once a week promote hair growth?
No I am afraid not!! Regular trims, good haircare, varied and healthy diet and a vitamin supplement like Vitabioctics Perfectil that's engineered to promote health hair and nail growth!Does washing hair once a week promote hair growth?
YES. As a Cosmo, your hair follicles need the oil from your glands to grow hair as a plant needs water. Now if you don't sweat alot, then don't shampoo as often. But if you have a sweaty day, then by all means, SHAMPOO. The oil glands and sweat glands are NOT the same!
Yes depending on how you wash it. If you massage your scalp it will draw blood to the area thus providing more nutrients to your hair. You can also buy thick paddle combs to do the same thing.
that scalp massage was a good idea and what you eat, take into your body also promotes hair growth if you eat healthy your hair will be healthy and there are vitimans and some shampoos that promote hair growth
I don't know about washing but I get my hair trimmed when the ends start to split which is every 6-8 weeks I'd say. Trimming keep the hair healthy and growing strong :)
May be the catalyst, because it cleans the dust, fungal infections etc., and can be made vigorous to grow.
Well I wouldn't cut down the washing to once a week, but washing your hair every day is very damaging.
