If you let your roots go greasy, does this promote hair growth?

apparently it does, but i just wana get some answers from people who know about hair first =]If you let your roots go greasy, does this promote hair growth?
NO! Actually not washing your roots is worse. When you was your roots hairs they are ready to fall out will fall. However is your not washing it then the hair that would easily fall out in the shower now is falling out all over your carpet etc. The average person loses 100 strands of hair daily. Plus clean hair looks healtier, smells better. If you let your roots go greasy, does this promote hair growth?
Acually your not supposed to do that, it kinda wrecks you hair. You should wash it!
It is healthy to let your roots let out their natural oils but no it doesn't promote natural hair growth.
Noooo???

It promotes bugs!!

Ewww!!
No!!! You dirty...head! That promotes unsanitation of your persona, gross!!!!
ok no. it doesn't promote bugs, but it's smelly and looks awful. if you want your hair to grow, eat right and be gentle with your hair (like avoiding split ends)
Let me tell you something: my eighty year old great grandpa has a head full of luxurious hair (like moses in the ten commandment movie) and it's not that he doesn't wash it he just doesn't use shampoo products all the time. It's not the water so much as it is the chemicals. It's okay if you don't wash it like everyday. Just make sure that if you sweat or it's a hot day you may need to wash it more often.
Your hair only grows half and inch per month.

Im not sure their is a way to make hair grow faster- only if you keep it healthy not adding heat to it everyday and letting your natural oils grease it up once in a while.
you are not supposed to do that it clogs the pores in your scalp so then the hair can't grow.
Ahaha gurrrl you greasy, wash yo hair!!
acuttaly yea it does grow, but thats kind of sick.
Well I have heard that especially if you have curly hair that you should not wash your hair every day because you can dry out your scalp and strip your hair of natural oils that are supposed to help your hair look healthy. and I read a book about curly hair that suggests that you should use friction to clean your hair and scalp to remove buildup and just rinse with water and to never use shampoo. But to promote hair growth, I have read that certain foods are good, those with protein and to take prenatal vitamins and to give yourself scalp massages, that improved circulation is what helps your hair to grow.
wasg ur hair!!!!!
It does not promote hair growth so go ahead and wash your hair. Besides, what good is long hair if it's dirty and greasy?

Get out the shampoo and have at it!
